Power Yoga – The way of life

Well I had to write about this. I’ve been doing Power Yoga since about a year now (with a gap of 3-4 months in between due to a few personal commitments) and its proved to be just awesome. I might not be able to express in words how this has changed my life, but I’ll give it a shot.

Technological Evolution

So I’ve been busy and that’s what most of my friends had to say. What has kept me busy was a Marathon on Information Absorbtion.

I’ve been busy reading and studying. I usually used to invest a few hours learning and innovating at home but lately I’ve geared up for a few certifications and working on creative ideas at home helps me implement new technologies. Now this satisfies two things; the urge for doing something different apart from the daily mundane and monotonous work, and yes ofcourse the main objective; learning new technologies. My experience with technology has taught me that it changes every second; literally; and if we dont keep up ourselves, we’re outrun by new competition. I ensure that in a day I spend an hour reading about latest trends in technology and give about 2-3 hours at night working on creative projects. I love experimenting with new and different technologies, tools, frameworks, methodologies, etc which gives me an edge over my colleagues and helps me adapt easily.

Live everyday likes its your “Last”

Ever had something to say to someone but thought there will be a better time to say it? Ever had something you needed to do but thought that you’ll do it later? Do work and other life-like priorities end up keeping you so busy that you do not have the time to express a simple “I Love You” to your sweetheart, a simple “I miss you dad” or “mom you’re the best”? Ever thought how much we miss our friends but think that its not the right time to call him or her and say a simple “Hi – How you doing?”

The Emotionless Date

A few days ago I was at a restaurant with a few family members and friends and we were having a real nice time enjoying some Italian oven Pizzas when I happened to notice a beautiful couple walk in and realised that I knew the guy. He was an acquaintance; a new college kid who had just joined work. It looked like a date and I really didn’t want to intrude by walking over to say hello, so I pretended I didn’t see him.

One Lifetime is Not Enough

Has anyone ever thought that there are so many things to do and so less time to accomplish them all? Being a techy and with technology changing every second, there is so much to learn and keep learning that surely one lifetime isn’t enough. But out of my little techy world exists an even more huge world that is yet to be discovered and explored, things that need to be done, places to be visited, people to be met, words to be spoken, emotions to be expressed, feelings to be felt, passions to be fought for, food to be eaten… endless list I must say.

Can we learn to stand in a Queue?

Over a few months I’ve been wondering about the chaos that I’ve been experiencing with people in and around; let it be at the cashier of a mall, at the railway counter, in the parking, on the elevator, at McDonalds, on the road at the red lights, everywhere – we simply haven’t learnt to have patience and to stand in queues. We simply cant respect the fact that “We need to wait for our chance”.

Knowledge vs Presentation Skills

Well the other day I was in a presentation where I had some vendor explain the features of their product which was up for evaluation. The individual taking us through the features and technical details on the usage of the product was indeed highly knowledgeable about the product. When he started explaining the features, initially I thought it was just me who was having a tough time understanding his accent; which had a heavy MTI (Mother Tongue Influence); but after an hour of the session, I was unable to concentrate on what he was saying. As it is we were on a conference call, he was just running through the presentation without taking feedback of whether we understood the topic/feature.
